Danish Krone Goes Local: Faster DKK Deposits and Withdrawals on SwissBorg

Danish users get their own DKK vIBAN, so funding your account in krone is now a local transfer rather than an international one.
Until now, moving Danish krone into SwissBorg meant sending an international SWIFT transfer. It worked, but it came with extra steps, costs, and often waiting time before your money arrived.
That changes now. SwissBorg is upgrading DKK payments for Danish users with local rails, settled through TIPS. Deposits and withdrawals in krone now move over Denmark's own payment infrastructure, so getting money in and out of your account feels like any other domestic bank transfer.
Local DKK Deposits and Withdrawals for Danish Users
- Your own DKK vIBAN: a dedicated account number in your name, used to send krone to your SwissBorg account.
- Local deposits and withdrawals: DKK moves over local rails instead of international SWIFT transfers.
- SWIFT still available: where a local transfer is not possible, SWIFT remains an option.
What Is TIPS?
TIPS (TARGET Instant Payment Settlement) is the Eurosystem's platform for settling instant payments in central bank money. It runs around the clock, every day of the year.
In April 2025, Danmarks Nationalbank moved instant payments in Danish krone onto TIPS, making Denmark the second country outside the euro area to use the platform, after Sweden. That is the infrastructure your DKK transfers to and from SwissBorg now use.
Why Local Transfers Beat SWIFT for DKK
- Faster settlement: a local transfer avoids the longer route an international SWIFT payment can take.
- Fewer intermediaries: no correspondent banks along the way, so fewer hands in the process and fewer intermediary costs.
- Smaller, more frequent deposits make sense: when moving money is quick and simple, topping up little and often becomes practical. That suits a regular habit such as Auto-Invest.
SwissBorg does not charge fees for receiving bank deposits. Your own bank may apply its usual charges for sending a transfer.
