We are probably all aware of a recent surge in national and international data breaches, particularly targeting France. Bad actors are increasingly using leaked information from these compromised external platforms (such as telecommunications or administrative portals) to cross-check data and target individuals through a process known as "enumeration".
Because these scammers use real, stolen data, their phishing attempts can sound incredibly convincing. Today, simply answering a call or confirming your identity to the wrong person might expose you to sophisticated scams.
To combat this industry-wide threat for the SwissBorg community, and restore absolute trust in any phone calls you receive from us, we are proud to introduce the Call Authenticator.
Never Guess Who Is Calling You
From now on, on the rare occasion that we need to call you, you won’t have to wonder if a caller is genuinely a SwissBorg representative. We have integrated our communication verifications directly into the secure environment of the SwissBorg app.
Here is how we are putting the power in your hands:
- Advanced App Message: A phone call from SwissBorg is only legitimate if it is preceded by an official mobile push notification sent directly by the SwissBorg app. For extra confidence, it can be found in the history of your Notification Centre.
- Complete Transparency: Before you receive the call, the notification will display the name of the SwissBorg team member who will be reaching out to you.
Zero Effort, Maximum Protection
The best part? This protective procedure is enforced automatically. All you need to do is check your app notifications before you engage with the call to verify it’s coming from SwissBorg.
The Golden Rule: Any SMS, WhatsApp message or unannounced phone call claiming to be from SwissBorg should be considered non-legitimate and potentially fraudulent. If your app hasn’t notified you, it isn’t us calling you.
Essential Security Reminders
Even with the Call Authenticator in place, please remember that a SwissBorg employee will NEVER:
- Ask for your recovery phrase or PIN code: This data is encrypted, and we have absolutely no access to it.
- Ask you to transfer funds: We will never request that you move your assets to a "safe" wallet, a secure address, or anywhere else.
- Provide support on social media: We do not conduct support or security verifications via X (Twitter), Telegram, Instagram or any other social media. Official account support is only available inside the app, or via email.
- Emails: Never trust or reply to emails that do not come to you from the @swissborg.com domain.
If you ever have the slightest doubt about a call you have received:
- Hang up. Do not give any personal information.
- Contact our support team immediately through the app or via email at support@swissborg.com.
