Staking BORG: Your Gateway to Influence, Rewards, and the Future of SwissBorg

TL;DR - Staking BORG, Simplified
- Stake BORG to unlock Voting Power. 10 BORG = 1 Voting Power. You’ll need at least 200 VP to qualify for rewards.
- Vote to earn. Rewards come from your consistent participation in governance, not just by staking alone.
- More impact, more rewards. Your average voting power over the 3-month season decides your share of the reward pool.
Staking BORG turns your belief in SwissBorg into action, and rewards you for it. It’s not just about yield; it’s about having a voice, shaping the ecosystem, and being part of what comes next.
Let’s break it down: how it works, how you get rewarded, and why staking is more than a feature.
How to Stake BORG in the App
- Go to the Portfolio tab.
- Find BORG in your asset list (or buy some if you don’t hold any yet).
- Scroll down to the BORG Staking widget, just below the price and chart.
- Tap it. You’ll land on your Voting Power page, where you can: - Stake more tokens - See your active voting power - Unstake tokens (starts a 14-day cooldown)
Important - Minimum staking to activate voting power: 10 BORG = 1 Voting Power
Voting Power = Impact. Impact = Rewards
Staking BORG doesn’t automatically generate yield. Rewards come from participating in governance votes, because impact deserves to be earned, not farmed. Once you stake BORG, you gain voting power - your influence in shaping SwissBorg’s direction.
Each season of three months, matching the existing Guardians cycle, contains multiple governance votes. When you vote, the app records your voting power at the time the vote closes - not when you cast your vote. This prevents manipulation and ensures rewards reflect real, committed participation.
The Guardians Pool: Powered by Buybacks, Governed by the Community
SwissBorg’s governance rewards come from the Guardians Pool, a treasury of BORG tokens set aside specifically for ecosystem contributions.
Step 1: SwissBorg Funds the Pool
Each quarter, SwissBorg evaluates the company’s financial health and assigns a Sustainability Score from 0 to 10. This score, transparently shared during live community calls, determines the size of the quarterly BORG buyback.
The better SwissBorg is doing financially, the bigger the buyback. This links the health of the company directly to the power of the community.
The bought-back tokens are added to the Guardians Pool.
Step 2: SwissBorg Unlocks a Portion of the Pool
SwissBorg uses the same score to decide how much of the total pool is unlocked for the quarter.
For example, a Sustainability Score of 5 plus a fixed factor of 7.5 unlocks 12.5% of the pool. The 7.5 is consistent every time. The rest is reserved for the future, keeping the system sustainable across market cycles.
Step 3: The Community Votes on Allocation
Then, the power shifts to the community.
Every user with voting power gets to vote on how the unlocked funds should be allocated across four key options:
- Burn – permanently remove tokens from circulation
- Safety Net – reserve for emergencies or black swan events
- Governance Rewards – distribute to users based on their participation
- Special Initiative – a flexible category defined each season by moderators and community leaders
The ecosystem evolves, and so does Option 4. Each quarter, its purpose is redefined based on community priorities.
If the vote assigns a portion to governance rewards, that’s when your participation pays off.
Step 4: Rewards are sent
Each season is composed of three months, to align with the traditional financial quarters. At the end of each quarter, we will send out the rewards according to participation, and how much the guardians decided to allocate to rewards. More details can be found in the following section.
How You Earn Rewards (and the Limits That Apply)
Your share of the governance reward pool is calculated based on your average voting power across the season, not just how much you used once.
How it works:
- For each vote you join, your voting power is recorded at the moment the vote closes.
- At the end of the season, your snapshots are added up and divided by the number of votes = your average voting power.
- Your rewards = your share of the total average power across all eligible users.
Eligibility Thresholds:
To maintain fairness:
- To earn rewards, you’ll need an average of 200 voting power or more for the season. We’ve set a minimum of 200 to keep rewards meaningful, fair, and sustainable.
- Your rewards are capped if your average exceeds 200,000 voting power
This ensures that both everyday participants and larger stakeholders are treated fairly, with no room for reward hoarding.
Example: Voting Power in Practice
Imagine a 5-vote season where your voting power at vote close was:
- Vote 1: 1,000
- Vote 2: 500
- Vote 3: 2,000
- Vote 4: 1,500
- Vote 5: 1,000
Total = 6,000 → Average = 1,200
Let’s say the total average voting power across all eligible users is 500,000.
You get:
1,200 / 500,000 = 0.24% of the governance reward pool
As you can see, it’s not about staking once. It’s about consistent, thoughtful participation.
Ranks Are Coming (Goodbye, Camps)
The old Camps system served us well, but it’s time to evolve.
This means that ranks are coming, a unified structure where your BORG holdings, activity (including Governance), and eventually Premium status all come together to define your influence and place in the SwissBorg ecosystem.
Ranks will determine more than status, they’ll unlock deeper access, new perks, and higher influence.
This Isn’t Just Staking. It’s Co-Creation.
SwissBorg’s mission isn’t to be just another crypto app. We’re building a decentralised wealth management ecosystem. One where users don’t just benefit, they lead.
By staking and voting, you earn your place in shaping the future of finance. You help guide the product, the token, and the culture, and you’re rewarded not just with tokens, but with influence.
Stake your BORG. Use your voice. Help build the future of SwissBorg.
Be Healthy. Be Wealthy. Love our BORG.
